Ancelottil on Mbappé and if He Will be at the Intercontinental Cup: 'His Call-Up...'

The Italian coach has analyzed the center-forward's situation with less than a week to go before the Doha game

Real Madrid keeps suffering from major problems. Injuries are affecting the Meringue team greatly and the last one to 'fall' has been Kylian Mbappé. The forward was unable to even finish the first half against Atalanta after noticing a sharp pain in the muscle.

The medical tests that the Madrid '9' underwent showed that he was suffering from a thigh on his left leg. However, his condition was still 'pending development'.

Carlo Ancelotti was asked about this issue, and after the game against Atalanta, he downplayed Mbappé's misfortune.

'He has an strain, a discomfort in his hamstring. We have to see in the next few days. It doesn't seem serious, but he had to stop because he couldn't sprint. It was bothering him a bit, so we preferred to change him,' said Carletto.

And this morning he was optimistic again. 'Mbappé's condition is not serious, he will travel to Qatar because we believe he can recover from the injury. We'll see if he plays,' said the Italian coach.

'It's difficult to say why these injuries have occurred. In the last few breaks he has stayed here, rested, worked and it has been noticeable because his performance has improved a lot,' said Ancelotti about Mbappé.

Rotations

Ancelotti also addressed the issue of rotations, with Endrick Felipe at the back. 'It's true. I can rotate if I have the players, but if I have a team of 14 or 15 players it's difficult to rotate,' said the Madrid boss.

'You talk about Endrick, that I don't give him many minutes, blah blah blah... but he's a very young player who has to adapt, improve...', Carletto concluded.

'I'm not bothered by criticism because it doesn't reflect reality,' said Ancelotti when asked about his work at Madrid. He also asked for patience and was optimistic as many players are starting to recover.

'I have to do my job as best as possible. We're going to do it despite the difficulties, the injuries... With the coaching staff and the medical team, we're going to see how we can improve in order to compete and fight until the end,' said Ancelotti.

'Little by little, things are starting to improve. We are very excited about the return of Alaba, who is close to returning. There are many positive things,' said Carletto.
