Ancelotti's Request to Florentino Amid Rumors about Xabi Alonso: I...
The Italian coach has contacted his president
Carlo Ancelotti has a contract into force until 2026. The Reggiolo coach feels strong enough to continue leading the bench at Santiago Bernabéu. He's said it several times in press conferences and has communicated it to Florentino Pérez in recent days.
The president, for his part, is very pleased with his work. In fact, he even thinks he's the right person to lead this team and it's very likely he'll continue.
All of this, of course, as long as the year isn't bad. For him to have the chance to continue, he'll have to win a major title this season. If he doesn't, he'll be dismissed, just as he was in 2015.
Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso's name remains present in Valdebebas. Perhaps this is the reason why there are doubts about Ancelotti's continuity. The San Sebastián native, who's doing a great job at Bayer Leverkusen, is very well-liked in Valdebebas.
Respect for Ancelotti
Authorized voices within the institution insist that Ancelotti must be respected. They're convinced he's capable of having another great year. They consider that talking about Xabi Alonso would be disrespectful.
Therefore, they don't intend to think about a coaching change at this point in the season. The San Sebastián native is in the running. In fact, saying otherwise would be deceiving oneself, but there's still no date for his arrival at the white house.
Moreover, the current situation doesn't suggest a dismissal of Carletto. The team is improving and there's already a sense that this could be another great and historic year.
Therefore, the sports management wants to keep their coach. He wants to stay, and as long as that's the case and the team continues winning, there's little more to discuss.
Another important aspect is that he has the team's approval. The players are comfortable with him and the atmosphere in the locker room is excellent. This is largely his 'fault.'
