Ante Budimir responds bluntly to Real Madrid's interest: 'Negotiations...'

The Croatian forward from CA Osasuna is being mentioned as a possible reinforcement for Real Madrid's attack

Real Madrid, under the new leadership of Xabi Alonso, is focusing on the Club World Cup. However, the Basque coach hasn't been able to count on the full squad in the first few days. This has caused him to be quite limited in some drills, having to include players from La Fábrica.

Xabi Alonso's footballing talent is generating high expectations among Real Madrid fans. The videos published by the club itself of the first training sessions have created great anticipation, overflowing the excitement of Madridists.

However, Xabi Alonso's arrival also presents a challenge for Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez. Both have the task of providing the key resources to the Tolosa-born coach. For now, Real Madrid has signed Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

A striker to strengthen the attack?

In addition to the arrival of Franco Mastantuono and the possible signing of Álvaro Carreras, Real Madrid could also strengthen their attack. The club's goal is to bring in a footballer with similar characteristics to Joselu Mato.

This situation has led Real Madrid to show strong interest in signing Ante Budimir. The Croatian would fit the club's plans both because of his transfer cost and his play style.

In recent hours, Ante Budimir was asked about his possible move to Real Madrid, but the footballer didn't give many clues either. "I have great respect for my club, Osasuna. I'm very happy where I am", he said.

"I understand there may be some interest, but my focus was on Croatia and now it's time to rest. I'll leave the transfer negotiations to someone else", added Ante Budimir.

The third top scorer in LaLiga

Ante Budimir had an outstanding season last year with CA Osasuna. The center forward scored 21 goals in LaLiga, which earned him third place in the top scorers ranking. The Croatian only finished behind Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappé.

Real Madrid could sign Ante Budimir for an amount close to 10 million euros to strengthen their attack. If so, Xabi Alonso would already have the striker profile that, for now, is missing from the squad.
