Arsenal 'forgets' about Rodrygo and puts a fortune on the table for Tchouaméni

The major and unexpected offer that Real Madrid has received to allow Aurélien Tchouaméni's departure

During the past few weeks, Arsenal have shown interest in signing Rodrygo. The Brazilian's situation with Real Madrid led the English club to try to take advantage of this opportunity. However, according to what we know at Defensa Central, Arsenal have ruled out Rodrygo to submit a €75 million ($75 million) offer for Tchouaméni.

An unexpected event due to the strong interest Arsenal had shown in acquiring the Brazilian winger's services. While the offer for Tchouaméni is significant, Real Madrid have rejected it. This is because the club considers the French midfielder a completely irreplaceable piece of the Merengue squad.

Despite his poor start last season, Tchouaméni managed to connect with his best version. Real Madrid's play has greatly benefited from his high level. In addition, the Frenchman has never expressed his desire to stop being part of the team.

Arsenal's new interest

This transfer window has been particularly busy for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta. After finishing second again in the Premier League and reaching the Champions League semifinals, Arsenal are looking to make a statement. After Thomas Partey's departure, the club have set their sights on Tchouaméni as the ideal replacement for the Ghanaian player.

Trained in Girondins de Bordeaux's youth academy, Tchouaméni arrived at Real Madrid in 2022. After his great spell at Monaco, the White club paid €80 million ($80 million) for him. An investment that, over time, has paid off.

At 25 years old, Tchouaméni is one of the most important players at Real Madrid. Having a contract until 2028 is a clear sign of the team's trust in him. Although Arsenal have offered a salary of £210,000 per week, neither the club nor the Frenchman are interested.

Rodrygo's dismissal

As for the 24-year-old winger, his signing for Arsenal is not possible at the moment. This is because, to become a "Gunner," the club must first have some departures. Specifically, Arsenal would need to allow Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli to leave in order to sign Rodrygo.
