Arsenal Rushes Real Madrid if Lunin Leaves: Makes a Move for the Successor

The upcoming summer transfer market promises to be quite intense. Although there are still months to go, several teams have already started making moves. All with the goal of improving their respective teams.

This is the case for Arsenal. According to reports in England, Mikel Arteta has set his sights on Joan García to strengthen the Gunners' goalkeeping position. The Catalan goalkeeper, who plays for RCD Espanyol, was one of Real Madrid's main targets.

This news hasn't been well received at Bernabéu. Especially, when it's possible that Andriy Lunin might end up leaving in search of a new adventure in his career. The Ukrainian, who doesn't get as much playing time as he'd like, is considering a change of scenery. 

If this departure is confirmed, the club's sports management would have to find a replacement. The candidate was Joan García, but Arsenal's interest could change the plans. In fact, the English team could transfer him in January, as long as they pay the release clause, which is around 25 millions.

Work in Valdebebas

There's a lot of work ahead in Valdebebas, although the priority isn't the goalkeeping position. In the noble area of Chamartín, they're aware that the defensive line needs reinforcement. For this reason, the names of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alphonso Davies are currently in the spotlight. 

Additionally, a center-back might arrive to rejuvenate the defensive line. Vitor Reis, a center-back from Palmeiras, is a favored name. Juni Calafat, the club's chief scout, is already preparing reports on this defender.

It would be a similar bet to Leny Yoro, but it's not the only one being considered at Bernabéu. Dean Huijsen, who plays for Bournemouth, also draws attention. Moreover, no one forgets about Joan Martínez, who is injured but has a very promising future.

So, we'll have to see what ends up happening. The team of the current European champion has many strengths, and the few weaknesses it might present could perhaps be solved in the summer.  That's the goal.
