Asencio Contradicts Ancelotti, Unexpected Message from the National Team: 'I Like...'

The footballer opens up in one of his first interviews as a player for the Spanish national team

Real Madrid Has Significantly Slowed Down Its Competitive Pace During the Current International Break. The majority of the footballers in Santiago Bernabéu locker room are players drafted by their respective national teams. Therefore, there are hardly any players available for Carlo Ancelotti.

One of the surprises of this March break is Raúl Asencio. Despite the fact that the Canarian '35' has only been in the first team's sports discipline for a few months, Luis de la Fuente has decided to include him for these matches.

The Real Madrid footballer receives his first draft with the Spanish national team, a moment he will remember for a long time, and he has given several interviews to share his initial impressions.

In his conversation with "El Chiringuito de Jugones", he left a truly striking message... one that contradicts the words Carlo Ancelotti offered a short time ago.

Raúl Asencio, due to the legal case in which he is under investigation, is experiencing a "peculiar situation". Juanfe Sanz asks him:  "What do you feel in rival stadiums when they put such great pressure on you?" Far from being intimidated, Raúl Asencio makes it clear that "I like it" because "I feel motivated, it makes me motivated, it makes me focus even more" on the match he is playing.

Personal Vision

"In the end, I go to the stadiums to play soccer, I don't go to listen to anyone," acknowledges the Madridist '35'. "It is true that in the end, we must be aware that people pay to see a show they should enjoy," notes the Spanish footballer of the white team. At the same time, he recalls that "people should focus on cheering for their team to encourage them toward the victory that, in the end, is what the fans of their team want."

The Merengue footballer doesn't hesitate to dodge the issue, especially when "certain things are seen or heard. I can only comment that we are all people, that we are doing our job, and that it is up to their conscience what may come out of their mouths," states the Canarian center-back.

This message contrasts with the words Carlo Ancelotti offered during the match between Real Sociedad and Real Madrid, in the Copa del Rey semifinals. Part of the txuri-urdin fans chanted during the match "Asencio, die," words that the Real Madrid coaching staff immediately captured. "He was affected, and I decided to change him; it could be that his feeling affected the match," Carlo Ancelotti noted regarding those chants to the white center-back.

Now Raúl Asencio reveals that those comments and chants do not affect him... but rather motivate him to give his all in the matches he plays. The difference in opinions and realities between the player and the Real Madrid coach draws attention as the most challenging part of the current soccer season approaches.
