The $200 Millions Barça Could Lose after Dani Olmo's Non-registration

The sum of nonsense after failing to register its only summer transfer could reach a multi-million figure

The financial blow for Barcelona is imminent. LaLiga and the RFEF's reaffirmation of their decision not to allow the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor could cost the club more than 200 million euros.

If Olmo decides to leave to avoid being without playing for six months, he could claim the payment of his entire salary. This would amount to around 50 million euros for the remaining years of his contract.

A blow to Barcelona's accounts

Barcelona would also stop amortizing the 48 million euros of his transfer. This would force the club to record 40 million as losses in their accounting books.

Currently, the club expects to close the financial year with a profit of eight millions. This margin could completely disappear with the losses derived from the Olmo operation.

Additionally, leaving on a free transfer means Barcelona wouldn't earn anything from his transfer. This is especially serious considering the player has a market valuation close to 60 million euros. Moreover, the culés paid 55 million euros this summer.

Impact on expected income

The situation worsens because the club also had to sell the VIP seats for only 100 million euros, a figure lower than expected. This move was necessary to try to solve the registration issue.

Adding up all the figures, the operation could represent a loss exceeding 200 million. A severe setback for the already weakened blaugrana economy.

Olmo's future

For the player, the main disappointment would be ending his stint at Barcelona prematurely. However, his sporting future seems assured.

Major European clubs are interested in transfer him. In the Premier League, several top teams are closely following him. PSG and Bayern Munich, who already wanted him in the summer, would also be on the lookout.

If Olmo leaves on a free transfer, he could receive a lucrative transfer bonus. This would be a bargain for his future team and a total ruin for Barcelona.

Now, the decision is in Dani Olmo's hands. His next move could further exacerbate the Catalan club's financial difficulties.
