Bayern threatens Real Madrid's future with this signing after the 'Davies case'

The latest actions of the Bavarian team have set off alarms in the Valdebebas offices.

Real Madrid has officially received the confirmation that they can't sign Alphonso Davies. The announcement made by Bayern Munich, expressing his renewal until the summer of 2030, was already well known by the white leadership... albeit unofficially.

The agents of the American '19' rejected the possibility of signing the contract proposed by the Madrid executives, a circumstance that Real Madrid didn't pursue. Thus, the sports management prefers to focus its efforts on other players and other positions that are indeed priorities for the composition of the first team for the upcoming seasons.

One of the areas where a high-level addition would be needed again is the midfield. The retirement of Toni Kroos has left a significant void in the club in terms of personnel and quality of play, something that Carlo Ancelotti's pupils have expressed. The big debate this season is how to 'fix' the creativity of the merengue players, a question that the coaching staff has not yet been able to answer with guarantees or long-term durability.

Thus, the player chosen to fulfill that role is Florian Wirtz. Bayer Leverkusen's '10' has been in the spotlight of the scouts led by Juni Calafat for half a year, and he could well be the big operation for the white club this summer. But the entity presided over by Florentino Pérez is not the only one interested in acquiring his services by mid-2025: Bayern Munich aims to be the competition.

They won't give up at the first attempt

Uli Hoeness, honorary Bavarian president, has not hesitated to speak about this signing: "He is, without a doubt, a player we must not lose sight of". The interest of several elite European football teams in Florian Wirtz is not new to the white bosses, but this striking declaration of intent from Munich is. "If I can have a dream, then I would say Florian Wirtz has to play at Bayern", warns the German executive.

The emissaries of the Munich club are prepared: "If alongside Jamal Musiala, perhaps at some point, Wirtz also plays at Bayern, then we can look to the future with even more tranquility". This way of speaking about the possible signing of Florian Wirtz has sparked many rumors and puts the future plans of the Real Madrid board in check.

Uli Hoeness's words come at a critical moment for the white club. The refusal of Alphonso Davies to wear the merengue jersey, along with his renewal until the summer of 2030, is a circumstance that positions the German squad as a clear rival. Especially looking ahead to the next summer transfer market, an instance that Real Madrid would take advantage of to advance with a generational change paralyzed by injuries and retirements.

Real Madrid already knows that they have 'official' competition from Bayern Munich in the signing of Florian Wirtz. This circumstance, however, wouldn't intimidate the white executives when attempting to incorporate the talented werkself attacking midfielder, a very necessary player judging by what happened this season.
