Bellingham Pays the Price: Ancelotti Gives him the Bad News after the 2-5
The defeat in the Supercopa has led to a significant change in Ancelotti's plans that will damage Bellingham
The effects of the 2-5 that Real Madrid received during the Spanish Supercopa final are still unfolding. Faced with the criticism received after this game, Carlo Ancelotti has decided to make a change in his game plans. Aware that this will damage Bellingham, the Italian has informed the player about this change.
For the upcoming games, Ancelotti plans to use a 4-4-2 formation. This would mean Bellingham would have to play from the right flank, despite being a midfielder. This change has made it clear that the Englishman was chosen to pay for the mistakes the coach made against Barcelona.
Alongside the Englishman, Fede Valverde will return to the right flank due to this imminent change in formation. Despite the commitment and sacrifice of both players, this change would require them to do much more to try to achieve victory.
Ancelotti's change
Receiving several questions and being constantly criticized, Ancelotti continues to try to find a system with the team. While a change is necessary, the decision to play with a 4-4-2 would present several problems for the team. Jude Bellingham, in particular, would see his game affected and probably his level if he ends up playing from the left flank.
Despite the commitment of the 21-year-old player, it's well known that his preferred position is the center of the field. Having great vision and ease in providing deep passes, these skills would be wasted in his new position. This demonstrates what a bad idea this change in formation is for the team.
Valverde would face the same situation, whose skills can be better utilized as a midfielder. Even so, Ancelotti has made it clear the confidence he has that both players, despite this change, will perform excellently.
A greater sacrifice
Although this situation is not ideal, Jude Bellingham once again has the opportunity to demonstrate his commitment. After an excellent debut season, the Brit is faced with the challenge of rising to the occasion and overcoming it with ease.
