Benfica knocks on the door of a Real Madrid star, Xabi doesn't rule out the transfer
The Portuguese team wants Brahim as Di María's replacement and to give him the role of Lisbon's top-level star
Brahim Díaz could change clubs this summer. According to Ekrem Konur, Benfica have set their sights on the Moroccan striker from Real Madrid and are seriously considering making an offer in the coming days. The Portuguese side want to strengthen its attacking line and believe Brahim would fit perfectly into the team's playing style.
The player's camp acknowledge that there have been contacts. Although there isn't a formal proposal on the table yet, Benfica are expected to make a move soon.
At Valdebebas, they don't rule out his departure if a convincing offer arrives. The sporting management have set a minimum price of €60 million.
He is not untouchable
Xabi Alonso values Brahim positively, but doesn't consider him untransferable. He knows he is a quality player, with experience and the ability to unbalance, but his role in the squad is conditioned by the presence of footballers like Vinicius, Rodrygo, Mbappé, Arda Güler, Mastantuono, or even Bellingham.
In the last season, the former Milan player started strong and scored important goals, but ended up losing prominence in the starting eleven. Even so, his overall performance wasn't bad: 9 goals and 7 assists in all competitions, being a useful resource in many stretches of the season.

Xabi won't oppose a sale if that allows the club to free up space in the squad or strengthen other more urgent positions.
Third season hanging in the air
Brahim Díaz would face his third season at Real Madrid since his return from Milan. In total, he has played 117 matches in the white jersey, with 20 goals and 19 assists to his name. He has won titles such as LaLiga, the Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup.

Despite his involvement and commitment, the player is also aware that he could get more minutes at another club. Benfica's interest, as they will play in the Champions League and would offer him a leading role, could make him reconsider.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid aren't closing the door. If the right offer comes in, Brahim could leave. It will be one of the matters to solve this August.
