Ceballos hints at his departure from Real Madrid, the club hasn't taken it well: 'Free'
The player has posted a photo on their social media training at the gym, but with the message 'I want to be free'
Dani Ceballos has once again stirred social media with a message that hasn't gone unnoticed in Valdebebas. The Real Madrid midfielder shared a story on Instagram that many have interpreted as a hint about his immediate future.
The Andalusian footballer posted an image training alone, with the message: "Last training session before starting". Up to that point, nothing unusual. What has drawn the most attention was the background song: "I Want to Be Free", by Los Chichos.

Lyrics with symbolic weight have set off alarms at the club.
A gesture that raises doubts
The post has surprised Madrid's supporters and also those inside the locker room. This isn't the first time Ceballos has sent ambiguous messages about his continuity.
A few weeks ago, when asked about Betis in his hometown, the footballer replied with a clear "the door is always open".
Now, with preseason about to begin, this new gesture seems to reopen the debate about his situation.

The club hasn't liked the timing or the tone of the message. They believe it doesn't help to quiet the noise around the footballer, just when maximum focus is needed.
Key season for his future
Ceballos has a contract until 2027, but he isn't an undisputed starter. Last season, he started off well, stringing together several starts. However, an injury at Anoeta cut short his progress.
Since then, his prominence has decreased. Xabi Alonso barely gave him minutes during the Club World Cup in the United States (Estados Unidos): he played only 60 minutes in six matches.
The coaching staff want to see him more involved. They know he has quality, but they don't want distractions. This kind of post, right before returning to work, doesn't help.
Is an exit on the horizon?
Despite everything, Madrid doesn't intend to sell him unless a significant offer arrives. Ceballos has been useful in the past, and in a squad with few creative options in midfield, he could get minutes again.
It depends on him. If he wants to stay, he'll have to prove it. If not, messages like this will only fuel the idea that he's looking for a way out, and the club is already starting to get tired.
