First contact for Rodrygo's departure, negotiation underway with a direct rival

This summer market is set to determine the future of several players for the upcoming season. With some having a secured destination, others like Rodrygo Goes have remained in total uncertainty. After a dreadful campaign with Real Madrid, several clubs showed interest in signing Rodrygo.

While Manchester City was one of the most interested teams, it has been surpassed by a direct rival. Arsenal has already started contacting Rodrygo Goes to finalize his signing during the summer market. Seriously considering his signing, Arsenal has already taken the first steps to consolidate Rodrygo's departure.

Despite how important he has been in past seasons,  Real Madrid doesn't plan to keep Rodrygo in their squad. Having other plans for the upcoming season, Rodrygo is aware that his cycle at Real Madrid has come to an end.

Being part of Real Madrid since 2019, Rodrygo Goes has been a very important player for the team. Scoring in key matches, Rodrygo has been responsible for several of the club's recent successes. Having seasons where his performance was close to that of Vinícius, this campaign has been a complete disappointment.

With just 13 goals and 10 assists in 50 matches played, Rodrygo's future is sealed despite his contract until 2028. His recent contacts with Arsenal show that Rodrygo has accepted his fate and, clearly, his departure from the club.

Although a formal offer hasn't been presented, it's only a matter of time before Arsenal makes the necessary moves. After six seasons defending Real Madrid's colors, Rodrygo Goes is close to saying goodbye to the team.

Although this departure is the consequence of Rodrygo's poor level at Real Madrid, this operation will be extremely beneficial for everyone. Real Madrid would obtain a significant amount to sign while Rodrygo will join a club where he can be the star.
