Historic Steal from Barça: Star in Attack and Reinforcement Linked to Real Madrid

The white executives' plans have multiple variables

One of the  shared goals between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona for the 2025 summer market is in LaLiga. Both clubs have been close or have tried to get his services in the past, but only the entity presided over by Florentino Pérez ruled out his incorporation.

The "soap opera" surrounding Nico Williams's future seemed solved after what happened last summer, when he finally stayed at Athletic Club de Bilbao. The friendship with Lamine Yamal, thanks to their time together in the Spanish national team, wouldn't have been enough to convince him. There also weren't many chances to pay his release clause, valued at 60 million euros.

The financial limitations of the team, presided over by Joan Laporta, left them without the possibility of getting the services of a player who could move to Madrid. Because the forward line-up in Santiago Bernabéu changing room would have an open spot at the end of the current soccer season.

Many point out that Rodrygo Goes's continuity in the Meringue team is in doubt. While it's true that the '11' Brazilian is one of Ancelotti's indisputable players, he hasn't started many games during the first half of this season. Additionally, his discreet performance in previous months would place him on the exit ramp, according to many rumors.

One for another

Real Madrid would only be willing to sell Rodrygo Goes as long as the player openly and clearly expresses his desire to change teams... and secures an offer in line with his market value. Clubs like PSG or Manchester City could present figures that meet all the demands and expectations set by both the club and the player's entourage.

In the hypothetical case of the Osasco striker's departure, Real Madrid already has its "plan B": Nico Williams himself. With these forecasts prepared in the list of potential transfers, FC Barcelona would have little chance to sign the '10' from Bilbao. Real Madrid's treasury is much healthier than its blaugrana counterpart and can afford such an investment.

Especially if it's to undertake the transfer of a player who can provide quality and longevity in equal parts, the main focus of the transfers planned from the Valdebebas offices. Additionally, Williams' arrival would fulfilll another requirement set by the merengue board: to regain lost ground in the Spanish national team in recent years.

The transfer of Nico Williams by Real Madrid entirely depends on Rodrygo Goes. However, it doesn't seem that the Brazilian player is willing to give up a spot in Santiago Bernabéu locker room... because he knows that Carlo Ancelotti counts on him for the most important matches of the season, the ideal moment to show his best performance and assert himself.
