Crystal Palace sets Guéhi's price, Real Madrid's target, and Madridists respond
Real Madrid are not considering paying €40-50 million to sign the center-back and prefer to wait for Konaté in 2026
Crystal Palace has valued Marc Guéhi, a Real Madrid target, at over €46 million. The English center-back has attracted interest from several European clubs, including Liverpool. After the poor performance by Ibrahima Konaté and Virgil van Dijk against Bournemouth, Palace could raise the price to €58 million.
Real Madrid's position
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid's response is clear. They won't enter a bidding war for Guéhi. The club keeps its plan to strengthen the defense without making major expenditures this summer.
Madrid's strategy is to wait until 2026. That year, Konaté will become a free agent and will be the priority defensive signing. The intention is to reinforce the backline without breaking the financial plan.

Guéhi, 22 years old, has established himself in the Premier League as one of the most promising defenders. His performance has caught the attention of several clubs, but Real Madrid has decided not to compete for him at this time.
The club still trusts Konaté and its current center-backs, such as Huijsen,Eder Militão, and Rüdiger, to keep defensive solidity. In addition, they consider Guéhi expendable compared to the opportunity to sign the Frenchman for free in a couple of years.
Price and expectations
In England, reports indicate that Crystal Palace could insist and seek a deal close to £50 million (€58 million). However, in Chamartín, they don't see it as necessary to give in to these demands. The idea is to prioritize financial balance and medium-term planning.

With this position, Real Madrid shows that its market strategy is firm. They prefer to wait for specific opportunities and avoid paying high amounts for players who can strengthen the team later on.
The interest in Guéhi is, for now, on hold. Madrid is focused on keeping the squad competitive and strengthening key positions when it's financially viable.
In short, the club is committed to patience and planning. Konaté will be the main defensive target in the medium term. Guéhi, although attractive, doesn't alter Xabi Alonso's and the sporting management's current plans.
