The CTA, Once Again Exposed: Real Madrid is the Most Harmed by Permissiveness

The data draws attention and puts the focus on the theses defended by Real Madrid.

Real Madrid has been advocating for the regeneration of the refereeing collective for some time. The leaders led by Florentino Pérez, especially since the outbreak of the 'Negreira case,' have sought ways to unite all Spanish soccer clubs to change it. Far from achieving the desired effect, Real Madrid seems to have earned the animosity of LaLiga clubs.

Despite those same teams also raising their complaints and protests, match after match, about the performance of referees in our country. One of the main arguments Real Madrid relies on to defend its point of view is the statistics of the refereeing balance. These data reflect trends as anomalous as they are striking that open many debates.

The comparisons between the balances of different clubs leave impressions that outrage Madridists. The latest is built around the fouls in favor that the white club needs for one of its rival players to be cautioned with a yellow card. The differences compared to the rest of the teams are considerable.

Because Real Madrid leads that improvised ranking with an average of 12.4 fouls. That is, rival footballers could commit more than 12 fouls against Real Madrid players without seeing a yellow card. FC Barcelona is in the penultimate position of that list, with just 5.4 fouls that provoke a yellow card.

Another Statistical Anomaly

The club with the lowest record in that regard is Valencia. The rivals of the Levantine team, positioned in the relegation spots this season, barely commit 4.5 fouls before seeing a yellow card. The second team in this ranking is Real Sociedad, which has a record of 8.7 fouls: there is a gap of almost four fouls compared to Real Madrid.

The data once again open the debates regarding the performances of the refereeing collective in our country. The controversies attracted to the orbit of the entity presided over by Florentino Pérez are not enough to make the white team give up on its purpose. Especially while the shadow of the 'Negreira case', which also points to FC Barcelona, continues to loom over Spanish soccer.

In this context, Real Madrid's movements seem to have found some response from the new leadership of RFEF. Rafael Louzán, the current president of the Spanish Football Federation, has included Real Madrid in a very important meeting for the future of the refereeing collective and the king of sports in Spain.

The emissaries of the white club will attend this summit defending the same ideas that can be heard on Real Madrid TV or through the official statements. Because the refereeing controversy also exhausts those occupying the noble area of Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
