The date when Carreras and Mastantuono will be presented by Real Madrid

Real Madrid is sticking to their plan and is already considering making the next signings official

June 10, the deadline to register players for this summer's Club World Cup, has passed. Real Madrid ultimately only have Huijsen and Arnold as new signings. Neither Álvaro Carreras nor Franco Mastantuono have ended up landing in the Spanish capital.

That doesn't mean Real Madrid have given up on those signings, far from it. In fact, the plans at Bernabéu are still proceeding as previously planned. Both will arrive after the Club World Cup ends, since the agreements would already be finalized.

In Mastantuono's case, it's something finalized directly with River Plate, and it's just a matter of time. There was speculation about waiting until he turns 18 years old, despite having an Italian passport. They didn't want to risk it with FIFA to avoid anyone trying to cause problems because of his age.

From Argentina, they're already daring to set a date for Mastantuono's signing by Real Madrid. Journalist César Luis Merlo has given the date of August 15, one day after his birthday. Although he claims that Mastantuono would have already passed the medical with Los Blancos in recent days.

Agreement with Carreras but Benfica still puts obstacles in the way of his signing

Real Madrid reached an agreement with Álvaro Carreras weeks ago for his signing. It seemed he was even going to arrive in time to play in the Club World Cup with Los Merengues. Benfica prevented it, since they also wanted him for the aforementioned tournament.

That's why they didn't agree to release him before July 1, not even if Real Madrid paid his release clause. This attitude was not well received at Los Merengues, since they were being asked for more money to make it happen. That ended up causing his signing to be ruled out, at least for now.

It will be after the Club World Cup ends when they'll go after the Spanish left-back. They would be willing to pay his release clause at that time to bring him in immediately. Starting July 1, there won't be any more obstacles for the operation to go through.
