Dates and times for Real Madrid in the Champions League group stage, it's now official

Xabi Alonso's coaching staff can now start planning the coming months

Real Madrid has spent several days adapting to the opponents that, by draw, it will have to face in the league phase of the 25/26 Champions League. That collection of eight teams makes it one of the most disadvantaged by chance in the UEFA competition: five of those squads have won the European Cup.

The questions regarding the timing of these matches, especially considering the unbelievable and controversial trip to Kazakhstan to face Kairat Almaty in that Asian country, have been solved. The organizing entity recently published, from Nyon, the scheduling of the matches in the calendars of all participating teams.

With that in mind, Real Madrid will begin its journey in the 25/26 Champions League next Tuesday, September 16, when it will host Olympique de Marseille at Santiago Bernabéu. Just two weeks later, the white squad will have to travel more than 7,456 mi. (12,000 km) to and from Almaty. That match, scheduled for September 30, is set in the week when the white club plays the first Madrid classic of the season.

Already in October, the white squad will host Juventus at the Madrid coliseum on the 22nd of that month. The next European competition match to be played away from the Spanish capital is against Liverpool: the visit to Anfield Road is planned for November 4.

The pieces already fit

Real Madrid will play two consecutive Champions League matches as the away team. In addition to that brief stop in Merseyside, in the British Isles, the Merengue expedition must head to Greece to face Olympiakos. After that match on November 26, two matches at Santiago Bernabéu are approaching.

Manchester City is the last Champions League team that Real Madrid will host before the Christmas break: the new European clásico is scheduled for December 10. At the end of January, on January 20, 2026, Xabi Alonso's pupils will play at home against AS Monaco.

Real Madrid's league phase in the current edition of the competition concludes with a match away from the Spanish capital. On January 28, 2026, Xabi Alonso's pupils will have to travel to Lisbon to face Benfica at the Estádio da Luz, a place that brings excellent memories.

Real Madrid's schedule in the Champions League allows the coaching staff to keep a much more organized competitive horizon. This is especially true given the difficulty of the opponents drawn for this phase, as well as the need to combine it with other competitions such as LaLiga or the Copa del Rey.
