Mbappé: About to 'Steal' a record from Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid
The Bondy forward is one of the few untouchables for Xabi Alonso this season
The new coaching staff at Real Madrid fully trust tactically in a very select group of players. Among these footballers, the untouchables whom Xabi Alonso always wants to include in all his starting line-ups, is a Kylian Mbappé who aims to radically change his trajectory as a Madridist.
Indeed, the first season of the French player at Santiago Bernabéu has been slightly disappointing... even though he managed to score 44 goals in seven competitions, winning the Golden Boot of European soccer. However, the fans, the coaches, and the Merengue board, as well as Mbappé himself, know that he can offer much more on a sporting level.

That's why the arrival of Xabi Alonso, as Carlo Ancelotti's replacement, is one of the changes Mbappé will have to adapt to in order to finally take on the role of absolute leader. One of the references the French player has to make that goal a reality is Cristiano Ronaldo. After all, he is the idol of the Merengue striker.
Now Kylian Mbappé is just a few matches away from surpassing the record of the former "7" of Real Madrid. His start to the 25/26 season has been spectacular, scoring three goals in the first two matches of the current LaLiga. In order to try to break that record set by Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappé doesn't hesitate to take advantage of the final matchdays of the previous campaign.
Getting closer
As it stands, the new "10" of Real Madrid has scored in seven consecutive league matches, compared to the record of ten that the former Portuguese striker achieved in the 14/15 season. The current numbers of Kylian Mbappé already place him at the same level as one of the legends of the Merengue club, Ferenc Puskás, who also scored in seven consecutive matches.
The match against Real Mallorca at Santiago Bernabéu is a significant game on many levels for Kylian Mbappé. In addition to keeping the good collective dynamics experienced since the start of the season, the Bondy striker has the opportunity to leave his mark on the club's history.

During those ten matchdays of LaLiga 14/15, Cristiano Ronaldo managed to score 19 goals. Kylian Mbappé is also close to beating that number, especially thanks to his brace at Carlos Tartiere and the hat-trick at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium. Xabi Alonso is aware that the French player is one of the few he can't remove from the starting eleven under any circumstances.
His performance under the Basque coach has been little short of impeccable so far. Even during the Club World Cup, a competition in which he participated toward the end, notably weakened by the acute gastroenteritis he suffered in the early stages of the tournament in the United States. Now that he is starting to be in top form, he seemsunstoppable in every sense.
