Davide Ancelotti Raises His Voice Over the Treatment of Raúl Asencio: 'It's Disappointing'
The Real Madrid defender had to endure new offensive chants from the rival fans
The match held at Mendizorroza between Deportivo Alavés and Real Madrid once again left a controversial episode related to Raúl Asencio. Just like in the matches against Osasuna and Real Sociedad, the Madrid defender was the target of chants and whistles from the local fans.
This wasn't the only episode directed against Raúl Asencio. Around the Mendizorroza stadium, flyers appeared with the player's image and messages against Real Madrid. They included phrases like "Real Madrid: Erasotzaileen babesleak", which translates to "Real Madrid, defender of aggressors", and "Alde Hemedik", meaning "get out of here".

Soto Grado Stopped the Match to Report What Happened
The player had already experienced similar situations in stadiums like El Sadar and Reale Arena. In fact, in the match against Real Sociedad, the referee Sánchez Martínez heard the chants and decided to activate the protocol in question. As part of this measure, the match was momentarily interrupted, a message was displayed on the scoreboard, and a warning was issued.
Today, against Deportivo Alavés, César Soto Grado stopped the match to report what happened to the local club's delegate. The situation prompted a message on the scoreboards, just like it happened at Reale Arena. However, Raúl Asencio, to not give it more importance, asked the referee to let the match continue.
Davide Ancelotti's Words on What Happened with Raúl Asencio
After the match, Davide Ancelotti appeared before the media in the press room at Mendizorroza. The Italian, son of Carlo, was very forceful when questioned about the chants against Raúl Asencio.
"It's disappointing on a societal level, but we're not the ones who have to take action. We all hope things like this don't happen again", explained Davide Ancelotti.
"On the field, there must be communication between players and referees. I believe the one who decides is the referee, and my opinion is that he should be the one to activate the protocol", added the current Real Madrid coach.
