In DAZN they didn't say anything, the penalty on Bellingham that Muñiz Ruiz overlooked

The obvious penalty on Jude Bellingham that was completely ignored by Muñiz Ruiz

Controversies keep arising after the match between Real Madrid and Espanyol. With the questionable decisions of Muñiz Ruiz throughout the match,  the Merengue team was severely disadvantaged.  Although there were several obvious plays that the referee didn't call, there was one with Jude Bellingham that even the VAR preferred to forget.

During a corner kick, it can be seen how up to two Espanyol players hold Jude. Grabbing the Englishman by the jersey, both prevented him from even trying to reach the ball. This action, which is clearly a penalty, was neither shown by DAZN nor adequately penalized.

This only further demonstrates the constant errors committed during the match. The VAR, above all, was a clear protagonist by being able to analyze the play and deciding to overlook it. Between this penalty or Romero's criminal tackle on Mbappé that wasn't marked as a red card, the Madridist's frustration is completely understandable.

More and more controversies

Seeking to further secure their leadership in LaLiga, Real Madrid was confident of achieving another victory against Espanyol. Unfortunately for the team, the refereeing had a night to forget after committing constant errors that caused clear frustration.  Displaying a completely rough play style, Espanyol took to the field to hurt Real Madrid.

This was evidenced in countless plays that, conveniently, Muñiz Ruiz simply failed to see.  Such is the case of the penalty on Jude Bellingham, with the Briton being disadvantaged by two Espanyol players at the same time.

Being an obvious foul, it's not surprising that not even the VAR decided to call Muñiz Ruiz to analyze the play. A total scandal that should be analyzed to prevent similar situations from occurring in future LaLiga matches.

A match to forget

With many more matches ahead, Real Madrid seeks to forget the match in Cornellà as soon as possible. Aware that the season is still long, the club will have more opportunities to secure LaLiga and stop being disadvantaged by refereeing.
