Only One Option Left: RFEF's Definitive Reply to Barça Regarding the Olmo Case

Laporta could go to the Superior Sports Council (CSD) or the courts to try to reverse the decision

On December 31st, Barcelona tried to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. The request sought a new license for both players with the RFEF. This move aimed to divide the federative body, now with a new president, and LaLiga, led by Tebas as vice president.

LaLiga replied quickly. It declared Olmo and Víctor unregistered. From that moment, Olmo could decide whether to stay at the club or exercise a free exit clause.

Despite the uncertainty, Olmo made his intention to stay clear. In his New Year's message on social media, he joined his words with Barça hearts.

On January 1st, both players disappeared from Barcelona's official team on LaLiga's website. Without a license, they couldn't play for the team.

That same day, the RFEF announced it wouldn't grant new licenses. It argued that the case was already regulated and that they didn't want to break ties with LaLiga after the rapprochement with Louzán.

Barcelona submitted documentation to comply with the 1:1 rule. The arrival of 28 million euros from the "VIP lever" increased its salary cap.

Joint statement from LaLiga and RFEF

At 2:00 PM on Saturday, LaLiga and the RFEF issued a joint statement. They confirmed the increase in Barcelona's salary cap but maintained their refusal to register Olmo and Pau Víctor.

The only avenue left for Barcelona is the judicial one. It could turn to the Superior Sports Council (CSD) or the courts.

The entity seeks a precautionary measure to have both players. They still need to decide whether to exhaust all legal resources.

Barcelona had already shown intention to turn to the CSD or the courts if the resolution was negative. Now, it must confirm this strategy. The battle for Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor remains open, but the options are increasingly limited.
