Tchouaméni's Reply to the New Role Ancelotti: Gave Him: I Don't Like It...
Italian coach has informed the Frenchman that he will play as central defender the entire season, with a few exceptions
Aurélien Tchouaméni, a regular in the Real Madrid midfield, has been forced to play as a central defender due to the absences in defense. Faced with the situation, the Frenchman has been clear: "I don't like it, but I accept it."
With Militão and Alaba suffering cruciate ligament injuries, Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to look for alternatives.
The Austrian is in the final stages of recovery and the Brzilian will be out the entire season. Therefore, Tchouaméni has been one of the improvised solutions, occupying the central position in several recent games.
The Frenchman played his first game in that position since Asencio's arrival last month against Girona. Since then, he has played three more games as a defender, including games against Atalanta and Rayo Vallecano.

It's not your favorite position
Although Tchouaméni is not comfortable playing as a defender, he has accepted the challenge for the good of the team. " If the coach needs me there, I will do it," he said in recent statements.
However, he has made it clear that he prefers to stay in midfield, where he feels more natural and can influence the game more.
Despite his lack of experience in the position, Ancelotti has shown full confidence in the Frenchman. His physical strength and ability to anticipate plays have been key in covering for the defensive shortages.
Furthermore, his presence in the back line has relegated Raúl Asensio to the role of third center-back, which shows the weight of Tchouaméni in the current formation.

A patch until new additions
Real Madrid is working to get Alaba back as soon as possible and, in the meantime, Tchouaméni will continue to play as a center-back. This situation could extend until the 2025 transfer window, when the club could look for defensive reinforcements.
Although Tchouaméni is not thrilled with his new role, his professional attitude has been highlighted by both the coaching staff and his teammates.
The Frenchman continues to demonstrate his versatility and commitment to the team, despite not playing in his preferred position.
Real Madrid, for their part, are confident that this period as a center-back will be temporary, as they hope to return the midfielder to his usual position as soon as possible.
