Enzo Fernández One Step Away from Real Madrid, Chelsea Gives the OK to the Deal

Chelsea Would Be About to Sign a Replacement for the Possible Departure of Enzo Fernández

Chelsea doesn't want to miss the opportunity to sign one of the most promising midfielders in the European market. The Londoners have reportedly decided to go for Dário Essugo, a Portuguese midfielder currently on loan from Sporting CP to UD Las Palmas. The player has caught significant attention at Stamford Bridge.

The signing has caught the attention within Real Madrid, as Chelsea could be recovering from the departure of Enzo Fernández.

Dário Essugo Could Head to Chelsea

It is true that Dário Essugo is not going through his best moment with the Canaries. After the Christmas break, he has experienced a decline in his performance, worsened by his inconsistency due to two expulsions. In fact, he couldn't play against Alavés due to suspension, as he received a double yellow card in UD Las Palmas's last match.

However, in London, they are aware that Dário Essugo remains one of the biggest promises in European soccer. He is a player with great physical prowess, although, naturally, he still has much to develop and perfect in his career.

In fact, Dário Essugo was once considered for Real Madrid's midfield in the past. He is a footballer who already knows the League and, with more growth, could have a place. However, the club wasn't going to pay the amount demanded for him from Portugal, something that Chelsea might do.

Dário Essugo for Enzo Fernández?

According to the Portuguese press, Chelsea intends to pay around 22 million euros for Dário Essugo. In their strategy, they also consider the possibility of loaning the footballer next season. Strasbourg was one of the interested teams, but, as Fabrizio Romano announced, Mathis Amougou will join the French club on loan.

This operation could lead to the departure of an Enzo Fernández who isn't entirely comfortable at Chelsea. The Argentine, who might interest Real Madrid, won't leave Chelsea for less than 70M euros. Florentino Pérez and company, needing to strengthen the midfield, would be studying the operation.
