Fabrizio Romano confirms it: Madrid has competition and can make a lot of money

The final stretch of the transfer window may confirm his farewell

The last days of the transfer window are shaping up to be exciting, and Real Madrid is paying very close attention. This is especially true because they see that some moves could happen, and they are keeping a close eye on them. With one of these moves, they have realized that they could face competition for the plans they had.

We are referring to Nico Paz and Tottenham's interest in trying to secure his services. In fact, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that they have already spoken with an intermediary about his signing. Spurs are going to make a strong push for him, planning to make an offer before the window closes.

That shows that they are making moves to try to secure a signing that, however, will not be easy. Romano points out that Como will only accept a sufficiently high offer. At Defensa Central, we have confirmed that the Italian side is asking for at least €70 million.

Real Madrid is paying very close attention to this operation for several reasons, one of them being financial. They still keep 50 percent of Nico Paz's rights, which is important. Half of those €70 million, if his transfer is finalized, will go to their coffers.

Real Madrid has Nico Paz in its plans

However, beyond the money that could end up at Bernabéu, Real Madrid is also reconsidering his signing. During this summer, his possible return was on the table, although it was ultimately ruled out. The arrival of Franco Mastantuono made them prefer to leave him at Como.

He still has a buy-back clause signed that would make his return possible at a reasonable price. The plan was to see how his second season in Serie A would develop and if he continued to confirm the good impressions he has left in recent months.

That way, they were thinking about reconsidering his return for next summer, looking ahead to the 2026–2027 campaign. If Tottenham ends up securing his services, they will lose that option. That's why they are going to pay very close attention to what could happen with him in the final stretch of the window.
