Fabrizio Romano updates the Rodrygo case: this is the status of his signing for Liverpool

The progress that has been made in Rodrygo's signing by Liverpool has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City have been the clubs interested in signing Rodrygo Goes this summer. To everyone's surprise, Liverpool has ended up being the most likely destination for Real Madrid's right winger. Through his X account, Fabrizio Romano has stated: "There are still no advanced talks".

These words make it clear that, although the interest is present, the signing hasn't taken shape yet. "Rodrygo will decide his future soon," added Fabrizio Romano to clarify the Brazilian's situation. Without revealing further details, everything points to Rodrygo eventually leaving Real Madrid to start a new chapter.

An exit that wouldn't be a surprise after the issues he faced last season. Poor performance earned him thousands of criticisms from several sections of Madridists. This situation grew after the little trust Xabi has in him.

A clearer future

Rodrygo Goes has managed to keep himself for several seasons as one of Real Madrid's best players. As a right winger, Rodrygo managed to form a lethal attacking duo alongside Vinicius Júnior. The two Brazilian strikers have been responsible, on several occasions, for solving tough matches and achieving important victories.

However, while Vinicius improved his performance, the opposite happened with Rodrygo. The 24-year-old player had a level below that of Vinicius and Kylian Mbappé. Without being as decisive a winger as in past seasons, Rodrygo can still improve.

Liverpool has taken this into account, with the club working to secure his transfer. Although they haven't submitted an offer yet, the "red" team is focused on that. Given Rodrygo's reputation, Liverpool knows his departure won't be cheap.

The offer in the coming weeks

Liverpool's transfer market has been and remains impressive.  Having signed several stars, the club intends for Rodrygo to be its blockbuster signing of the summer. With time remaining before the end of the market, Rodrygo's departure from Real Madrid is increasingly becoming a reality.
