Father's Day 2025: The Reason Vinícius Has a Celebration This March 19

This date, so marked on the calendar, also provides reasons to celebrate in Santiago Bernabéu locker room

The Real Madrid players are currently engaged in their respective international commitments with their national teams. Most of Carlo Ancelotti's pupils, absent from the capital of Spain due to returning to their home countries, will spend a very special holiday away from our country. As every March 19, in Spain Father's Day is celebrated, and there are some white footballers who have much to celebrate.

One of the most recognized and recognizable is Fede Valverde. The Uruguayan midfielder, to the surprise of many, is the father of two children despite being only 26 years old. One of his first seasons of great responsibility at Real Madrid left a curious anecdote with Luka Modric, also the father of three children.

The Croatian '10' learned through a celebration, during the 19/20 season, that Fede Valverde had become a father for the first time: Benicio was born before the match against Eibar. These two midfielders are not the only white players celebrating Father's Day, although it is true that they are perhaps the most recognizable to Madrid fans.

Rodrygo Goes, despite his youth, also has offspring. The '11' verdeamarelo and Pamella Costa brought twins into the world in January 2023. Other footballers like Lucas Vázquez, Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, or Antonio Rüdiger would also receive the corresponding congratulations for Father's Day.

Special Day

Not only those who have become fathers have reasons to celebrate today, March 19. Because it is also Saint Joseph's Day, a quite popular name in Spanish-speaking countries. Likewise, at Real Madrid, there is a footballer whose saint is today: Vinícius Jr.

At first, it seems that the name of the verdeamarelo striker has nothing to do with this holiday, but because a shorter version of his real name is used. In reality, the Real Madrid player is named Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior, making it clear that José is his middle name and, therefore, it is also his saint.

In any case, the Real Madrid squad has much to celebrate for Father's Day. All the aforementioned footballers know well what it means to be a father with the exception of Vinícius Jr. Because although the Brazilian '7' has not yet found his path to fatherhood, it is a special day for him because Saint Joseph is also commemorated.

The white players will spend this holiday away from the capital of Spain and, in most cases, away from their families. They won't take long to return to Madrid, after these two weeks, to face a grueling and long series of competitive commitments that will decide the fate of the possible Madrid treble.
