It's over: Florentino and Vinícius reach an agreement and it will be official soon
The Brazilian wants to stay with the Whites and the contract renewal agreement is practically finalized; only minor details remain and it will be official
Vinicius Júnior has made the final decision. The Brazilian is staying at Real Madrid. After weeks of uncertainty, the winger has chosen to stay at the white club, the only place where he truly feels at home.
Florentino Pérez was also certain about it. The president wanted to keep him and has achieved what seemed to be slipping away. The tensions of the past month are fading and the contract renewal is closer than ever to becoming official.
The tug of war that complicated everything
The initial plan was to renew before the summer as Vinicius had promised. However, at the last minute he decided to cool down the agreement. The reason? To seek a renewal bonus or extra compensation for signing his new contract.

That move was not well received in the Bernabéu offices. In Valdebebas, people were upset that the player broke his word. Even so, the club didn't lose its composure; they knew that no team would make a multi-million offer for him this summer and that's what happened.
No one knocked on the door: neither PSG nor Premier. Vinicius realized there was no better way out and ended up accepting what he already knew: his place is at Real Madrid.
Contract until 2027 and no extra bonuses
Vinicius has a contract until 2027, but the club wants the contract to be extended. The renewal agreement won't include extra clauses, nor signing bonuses. It'll be a classic contract, with terms agreed upon long ago.
Both parties expect to announce the renewal in the coming weeks. Only formal details and the final approval are missing, but the yes has already been given.

Vinicius is enjoying his last days of rest before joining the preseason. He didn't shine at the Club World Cup and knows he has to give more. He admits it and that's why he wants to recover his best form as soon as possible.
In a recent interview, he made it clear: "My dreams are far from over and I want to win more trophies with my club." A direct message. The Brazilian wants to keep being a protagonist in this new project led by Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid trusts him. Now, he also trusts Real Madrid again.
