Florentino crosses out the name, goodbye to Toni Kroos's favorite to strengthen the midfield
The footballer was once linked to Real Madrid, but the club has completely ruled out signing him
It had been quite a few years since Real Madrid identified the pivot position as one of those most in need of reinforcement. However, in recent transfer windows, the club has been continuously linked to players in that specific role.
On one hand, Martín Zubimendi and Rodri, for a long time, were seen as the two options that most attracted Real Madrid. The former, however, has signed for Arsenal and the latter suffered a knee injury that complicates his signing this summer. Moreover, the "cityzen" pivot is one of the most important pieces for Pep Guardiola.
The third option considered by Real Madrid
Nevertheless, this summer a third, lesser-known option emerged that Real Madrid strongly considered: Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart. The German prospect, however, is no longer an option, according to a recent update from "ESPN".

Xabi Alonso believes that the "5" area is one of his priorities if the club has money available for the signing. Nevertheless, Angelo Stiller, who had been recommended by Toni Kroos, won't be the player to sign for Real Madrid.
According to "Defensa Central", Real Madrid prefers a much more experienced player for that position. They want a profile capable of managing the team without any problems and doing so immediately.
As reported last month, Angelo Stiller has a release clause in his contract valued at approximately €36.5 million. His signing would be around that price, so it would be a significant outlay for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid didn't want to pay Angelo Stiller's high price
With a contract in force until 2028, Real Madrid knows it couldn't get Angelo Stiller as a free agent.

The decision to remove him from its wish list definitively, therefore, is understandable on the part of Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Florentino Pérez and company will keep looking for alternative options in the position until the end of next month and hope to finalize a signing.
