Florentino Pérez told Xabi Alonso, key for the World Cup: 'If we win…'
Winning the Club World Cup would give Real Madrid a major financial boost that would be used for signings
Florentino Pérez was at Real Madrid's training session in Palm Beach this Monday, accompanied by Pirri. Both wanted to show their support for the team before the decisive match against Juventus in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup.
There, the president spoke with Xabi Alonso for a few minutes and sent him a very clear message:
"If we win, it'll be a lot of money for the club and we'll be able to sign a bit more."

Beyond the sporting motivation, the tournament represents a unique economic opportunity. Florentino doesn't want to miss it.
Record revenues and they can increase
Real Madrid is already seeing its participation in this historic edition of the Club World Cup rewarded. Just for participating in the tournament, FIFA has awarded the club €28.2 million ($28.2 million).
To that amount, the €4.6 million ($4.6 million) additionally obtained for its performance in the group stage are added. The victories against Pachuca and Salzburg have brought in €1.85 million ($1.85 million) each, while the draw against Al Hilal has meant another €925,000 ($925,000).

In total, the club has already reached €39.6 million ($39.6 million). The best is yet to come. If it keeps advancing in the knockout rounds, those figures will keep growing.
A tournament that can finance signings
The performance-based prize system defined by FIFA offers great rewards. For example, reaching the semifinals would bring in another €18 million ($18 million). If the team finishes as champion, it could pocket up to €115 million ($115 million) in total, combining fixed allocation, sporting results, and bonuses for each round passed.
That's why Florentino attaches so much importance to the tournament. With that extra money, the club would have room to maneuver to make signings in the summer without putting its financial balance at risk.
Xabi Alonso knows it. This isn't just an opportunity to lift a trophy. It can also be the financial boost that allows the club to take another step in its sporting planning for next season.
The conversation between president and coach was brief but direct. Winning this tournament can change many things. Madrid is going all out for it.
