At Barça, they know they have a very hard time competing with Florentino and Real Madrid in the market. Laporta has accepted it after all the setbacks they've suffered in terms of signings. It happened to them with Endrick and when it seemed like they had Arda Güler secured, he chose the Merengue club.

But history could repeat itself, and in the press close to the blaugrana side, they fear the worst. In this case, we're referring to the 19-year-old Swedish youngster, Lucas Bergvall, who's already succeeding at Tottenham. Real Madrid aren't taking their eyes off him due to the potential he's showing.

A midfielder who stands out for his great physique, standing 6 ft. 2 in. tall (1.87 meters), which is imposing at his age. In addition, one shouldn't overlook the quality he has with the ball at his feet. Several teams have noticed his performance in the Premier League, and among them is Real Madrid.

However, signing him won't be easy since Tottenham signed him to a contract until 2031. We already know Spurs are a club that negotiates very hard, and it'll be difficult to convince them. The Merengues experienced this with Bale, Modric, Kane, or Cuti Romero in recent years.

Barça had him signed but let him slip away at the last moment

If he ends up at Real Madrid, it'll be a very hard blow for Barça, who had him practically signed. They offered 7 million and the chance to be an important player in the blaugrana reserve team. It seemed they'd reached an agreement with Bergvall for his arrival.

However, Tottenham got involved, raising their offer to 10 million. In addition, they offered him more prominence in the first team, something that also convinced him. The blaugrana side didn't change their proposal and ended up letting him go.

Given the performance he's delivering in England, it's clear it was a big mistake by Laporta. It could become even bigger if Real Madrid manage to sign him. Another one to add to the list of blaugrana failures who end up wearing the eternal rival's jersey.
