Florentino sets a price for both, only one can leave, Xabi awaits the final decision

Real Madrid still have an intense summer ahead with several matters to solve. It's true that in terms of arrivals, everything seems settled after the signing of Álvaro Carreras. However, they have to let go of several players even if it means making a difficult decision.

With Carreras's arrival, they now have 3 left-backs in the squad. This kind of saturation is usually unwelcome, so they're considering letting one go, although they're not sure which one it'll be. Mendy and Fran García are both on the transfer list, but they still haven't decided who it'll be.

For now, Florentino has decided to set a price for both before testing the market. Mendy is currently injured, and it'll be difficult to let him go due to his physical condition. In any case, AS has reported and Defensa Central has confirmed that they'll sell him for €14 million (14 millones).

That's the price they're asking for the Frenchman, while Fran García's is a higher figure. The strong FIFA Club World Cup performance by the former Rayo Vallecano player has raised his value. That's why in his case, they want to get around €25 to €30 million (25 o 30 millones) for his transfer.

Xabi Alonso has conveyed his request to Florentino

Xabi Alonso is paying close attention to the final decision the club makes regarding the left-back this summer. Right now, it's more likely that Mendy will leave than Fran, who has earned his spot. However, nothing is ruled out since the situation is quite complicated with both.

In fact, the Basque has been talking with the president about the plans for that position. Xabi Alonso has told Florentino to sell Mendy, making him the one to sacrifice for the left-back spot. He believes he's the one who can contribute the least to his playing systems.
