Florian Wirtz: from signing with Liverpool to a massive hint at Real Madrid

Their statements make Liverpool tremble in the face of the danger posed by Real Madrid

Liverpool is having a summer of shaking up the market with major signings and significant spending. But without a doubt, the big star has been Florian Wirtz, for whom half of Europe was fighting. In the end, they paid Bayer Leverkusen 125 million to secure his services.

However, it seems that the new Red star is already starting to cause problems as soon as he arrives. Especially because he made a huge gesture toward a Real Madrid player with his statements. This is something that likely didn't please Liverpool after seeing how Los Blancos were also interested in the German.

It all stems from some statements answering which was the best player he had played with. He had many options, but among all of them, he was clear: a Madridist like "Toni Kroos." He has only shared the national team with him in a few matches, but it was enough to win him over.

It should be remembered that Kroos retired from the national team some time ago to focus on Real Madrid. He only announced his return to be able to play in the European Championship that took place in Germany last summer. It was precisely the last tournament before his official retirement from professional soccer.

Liverpool doesn't trust Real Madrid

Liverpool has seen in recent years how Real Madrid ruined its plans in the market. With Tchouaméni and Bellingham, they seemed to have them signed, but they ended up with Los Blancos. With Trent, they managed to get him to leave Anfield for free to head to Bernabéu.

Now the story could repeat itself with Konaté, whose future is uncertain but is getting closer to the Spanish capital. This is why Liverpool doesn't trust anything that happens with Wirtz. Even though he just arrived, they know Los Merengues could go after him in the future.

Especially because  the relationship between both clubs has been smooth  in recent years despite everything. Several players have switched from Liverpool to Real Madrid and vice versa. We'll see if Konaté or Wirtz end up being the next to do so.
