The footballer who's joining Madrid for Rüdiger: Florentino ready to make a big move
Konaté is the favorite center-back of the sports management in case Rüdiger leaves and could arrive for free in 2026
Antonio Rüdiger's future at Real Madrid is hanging in the air. The German center-back has attracted interest from Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia, where Fernando Hierro is the new sporting director.
Rüdiger shared a photo on social media alongside Hierro himself and members of the Saudi sporting management. The meeting has sparked all kinds of rumors about a possible departure.
The defender is recovering from a meniscus surgery and has a contract until 2026, but his departure this summer can't be ruled out.

Saudi Arabia tempts him and Madrid already looks for a replacement
Real Madrid is open to a possible sale if there's no agreement for a contract renewal. The proposal under consideration is a one-year extension with a reduced salary. If Rüdiger doesn't accept it, Florentino Pérez will put him on the market.
At 32 years old, a departure now would allow the club to avoid losing him for free next season. Saudi Arabia is a destination that appeals to the footballer, not only for financial reasons. Rüdiger is a practicing Muslim and values living in a country with a strong Islamic identity.
Meanwhile, Madrid is already studying their options. Two names are highlighted: Ibrahima Konaté and William Saliba, both French center-backs.
Konaté, the preferred option for the future
Konaté has a contract with Liverpool until 2026 and hasn't renewed. His situation is similar to Alexander-Arnold's, which opens the door to a possible signing as a free agent in 2026.

However, if the English club decides to sell him earlier, Madrid could move the operation forward this summer. The center-back is liked for his physical strength, youth (26 years old), and experience at the top level.
Saliba, meanwhile, is also on the list. His level at Arsenal has been extremely high and the club has been following him for some time. His signing, however, could require a larger investment.
Florentino moves quickly
Real Madrid doesn't want to improvise. If Rüdiger leaves, the replacement must be clear. Florentino Pérez is ready to act. The club values the German's performance, but sees it as necessary to refresh the defense with an eye on the future.
Rüdiger is considering it. Meanwhile, Madrid sharpens their moves. The replacement is near.
