According to the latest reports, the Italian side would be willing to pay the €40 million (40 millones de euros) that Stuttgart is asking for. Its goal would be to close the deal with the club and the footballer this week.

If so, Real Madrid would miss out on Toni Kroos's favorite to take his place at Santiago Bernabéu.Angelo Stiller was the one chosen to lead Xabi Alonso's new project, but the club would have chosen other paths.

The German believes that in Italy he'd have a more important role from the start, since the competition at Real Madrid is fierce.
