Giménez Spat at Bellingham in the Derby and Got Away with It, Disgusting Image

The shameful action of an Atlético player that they've tried to hide

It was clear that  the classic controversy wasn't going to end so easily after what happened. We're no longer talking about the penalty that many impartial analysts believe wasn't one. Instead, it's about the images that emerged hours later thanks to the fans in the stadium.

Both the broadcast and the media try to cover up the truth to construct the narrative. But on social media, what really happens on the fields under the referee's protection circulates. This time it's about a disgusting detail that no one saw, or didn't want to see.

It was with the ball stopped when, before taking a corner, Atlético's players went after Madrid's players. First, Giménez approached Bellingham and disgustingly spat at his feet. Then, Koke pushed Asencio when he was asking the Uruguayan center-back for explanations.

The worst part of this sequence of images is that it wasn't until 2 days later that they came to light. There was no replay to appreciate what Giménez had done. The media also didn't see it, which is why they haven't talked about it.

Giménez Gets Away with a Shameful Action Thanks to VAR's Inaction

It's surprising how VAR did intervene to review Tchouaméni's supposed penalty. For the vast majority of analysts, it shouldn't have been called, but they ended up calling it. All thanks to De Burgos Bengoetxea's meticulous review to call Soto Grado.

But it seems that at the moment of the spit, a lack of respect and a provocation, the screens were off. Something similar happened a week earlier with Carlos Romero's criminal tackle. VAR only intervenes when it suits them, and in other cases, they wash their hands of it.

The most shameful part of this is that Giménez got away scot-free after a lack of respect. Moreover, Soto Grado went directly after Asencio with a cocky attitude. He turned his back on the red-and-white players, showing that he wanted to defend them despite their actions.
