Goodbye to Rodrigo: Real Madrid considers signing another Premier League midfielder
The hypothetical departure of the Brazilian forward would enable the signing of this player
Real Madrid, still with Franco Mastantuono's presentation fresh in memory, aims to complete Santiago Bernabéu locker room this very summer. After all, the Argentine player has joined Real Madrid Castilla directly, taking the number "30" jersey and leaving one more spot open in the first team.
That's why the executives led by Florentino Pérez have revisited Xabi Alonso's requests for the final weeks of this transfer window. One of the most notable is the signing of a creative midfielder, preferably with a defensive profile. After many names and rumors, the merengue sporting management seems to have reached an agreement: Adam Wharton is the chosen one.

This is what The Daily Mail would have revealed. In England, they indicate that the white team has intensified contacts to secure the services of Crystal Palace's midfielder, an operation that left Real Madrid feeling quite optimistic. At least until now, because from the upper echelons of Selhurst Park, they've already replied with the requirements to sign the British midfielder.
The white board would have to invest a significant sum that it currently doesn't have in Santiago Bernabéu coffers. That's why it would be essential to process, before signing Adam Wharton, Rodrygo Goes's departure from the Spanish capital. With a transfer ideally set at €100 million, the exit of the verdeamarelo striker would provide enough liquidity to activate that signing.
Sticker swap
Until Rodrygo Goes's offers make an offer, Real Madrid will have to wait to make Adam Wharton's signing a reality. Despite the options of Rodrigo Hernández or Vitinha, one of the club's declared targets in recent days, the Crystal Palace player would be first.
Wharton's signing would not only help keep balance in midfield, one of Xabi Alonso's main requests after what happened at the Club World Cup. It would also allow for more "support" for Arda Güler, who's taking his first steps as the team's total controller.

That is the great motivation shown by the Tolosa coach in his insistent request to secure the services of a footballer like the one playing for Crystal Palace. Also because the English player would contribute to the rotation of key players like Aurélien Tchouaméni and Fede Valverde, as well as complementing perfectly with Eduardo Camavinga or Güler himself.
That signing so desired by the white team's coach, which is also starting to resonate among the board members, can only be activated through Rodrygo. The departure of the Osasco striker would leave a significant amount of cash in the merengue treasury, money that would be used to cover all the costs of Adam Wharton's operation.
