Goodbye to His Transfer for Real Madrid: He Would Love to Sign, but They Rule It out
Florentino no longer sees him for the white team and completely rules out his arrival at the club
There is no doubt that Real Madrid's team is the most interesting one in Europe right now. This is due to the big names that they have been able to bring together in the Whites and, without a doubt, attract everyone's attention. However, not all of them can fit the profile of the player that Real Madrid is looking for.
In this case we are referring to a possible transfer for the white team that has been rumored recently. This after Florentino Pérez's final decision to let him pass completely. We are referring to Liverpool's Dutch central defender Virgil van Dijk, who, despite wanting to join the Meringue team, won't be able to do so because of both salary and age.
We know perfectly well that Florentino Pérez has very clear plans for the future with Real Madrid and the young promises. Therefore, a player of this profile doesn't fit into the characteristics of Real Madrid's recent transfers.
It won't be his transfer
This player has proven to be one of the most important pieces in the Premier League over the last few years. Despite this, he doesn't seem to fit into the plans that Real Madrid may think of using in the future.
His numbers this season are quite interesting despite being 33 years old and having played a few games at the top level. With 1800 minutes played this season in 20 games, he shows great importance to his club.
But it seems that Florentino Pérez has a very well thought-out plan and he has no place in this project for the next few years. More than anything because of the salary issue, since he would've to arrive with a good amount to collect each year.
Too late
Had it been a couple of years ago, he might have had the chance to arrive at the Merengue team as a star. However, today it seems that his incorporation is no longer viable, since it could not be profitable in the medium and long term. A real shame, because he would've been one of the team's stars.
