Goodbye Real Madrid, Guardiola asks City for one last signing worth almost $100M
The coach of the English squad wants to further strengthen its roster
One of the sagas that Real Madrid still needs to solve features Rodrygo Goes. The verdeamarelo footballer didn't play any minutes in the match against Mexican side Pachuca, a circumstance that increases the rumors about his possible departure from the first team this summer.
Despite those speculations, the South American striker would like to stay in Santiago Bernabéu locker room. However, the information revealed by Eduardo Inda represents a major setback to the dream that the Osasco striker still keeps since he arrived in Spain's capital in 2019.

The director of "OKDiario" has no doubts: "I think Rodrygo could be the big departure this summer. Obviously, they're going to wait until the end of the Club World Cup" to make a final decision about the South American striker's future in the first team coached by Xabi Alonso.
In view of those reasonable doubts about the future of the Merengue striker, Eduardo Inda reveals "an offer, that Real Madrid has been approached, to see if they'd be interested in selling him" this summer. The bosses led by Florentino Pérez already know that there is a European elite club that has inquired about his current contract situation.
Will try to sign him once again
In response to that approach, "Real Madrid has set a price". The white bosses know that the party behind that offer "is the team that has always wanted him": Manchester City managed by Pep Guardiola. The fascination of the sky blue club's coach with Rodrygo Goes, since the Carioca striker has been at Real Madrid, is clearly an open secret.
"Although half of Europe wants him," warns Eduardo Inda, Manchester City is the best positioned team right now to secure Rodrygo Goes's signing during the summer of 2025. In this context, the white club "has valued the player at 100 million euros", although the directors "could lower it to 80 or 85 and pay the rest in comfortable installments".

There is also an approach "from the usual ones, from Saudi Arabia". However, the option of playing for a Saudi Pro League team seems much more distant than the possibility of defending the cityzen badge over the coming seasons. Especially when Pep Guardiola once again puts his name on the table in recruitment meetings at the Etihad Stadium.
From the Valdebebas offices, they are clear that they won't make a move until after the Club World Cup. The competition organized by FIFA is enough time for Rodrygo to prove himself and enter the competition to earn a spot in the starting eleven. It could also certify his departure from the Merengue sports project, presumably heading to Manchester City.
