Guardiola K.O.: a Real Madrid Player Refuses to Save Him from being Fired

Manchester City's coach requests urgent reinforcements during the winter transfer market

One of the main targets of the European soccer elite is Real Madrid. The players in the Santiago Bernabéu changing room are of exceptional quality, and more than one club would like to have several of them. It's not the first time Manchester City has tried to make a transfer from the white club.

However, as has happened on previous occasions, they haven't been successful. The critical situation in which Pep Guardiola finds himself, accumulating losses and draws at an alarming rate for several weeks, has led the coach to request more players.

Especially in midfield, to replace Rodrigo Hernández. The injury of the Spanish '16', out of the playing fields for the entire 24/25 season, is affecting the sky blue team's performance much more than it seems.

However, Guardiola wouldn't just want transfers to control the difficult situation in his engine room. The striking lack of accuracy of his best forwards, including Erling Haaland, has put a Real Madrid forward in the spotlight: Rodrygo Goes.

Rejected

According to the information published by "Relevo", several emissaries from the cityzen entity contacted Rodrygo Goes to deliver a proposal from the noble area of the Etihad Stadium. Despite the complicated moment the '11' verdeamarelo is experiencing, he didn't hesitate to reject those advances from the English club.

Although he hasn't been a starter for a good part of the first half of this season, Madrid has made it clear to the winger and his entourage that he is key. According to "Relevo," Rodrygo is clear that his goal is to succeed wearing the merengue jersey.

However, this digital newspaper also notes that from the Valdebebas offices, they weren't willing to let him go... regardless of whether he accepted the offers from England. The firm refusal to let Rodrygo Goes leave is a further demonstration of his importance to everyone at the club.

Especially for a Carlo Ancelotti who has brought back the 4-3-3 to be able to count on him as a key starter. The 'experiment' conducted around the 4-4-2 has yielded worse results than expected, so the Reggiolo coach returned to the arrangements that best fit his players.
