Guti Reveals Madrid's Big Problem and Points a Finger: No Need to Run More

He analyzed Real Madrid and points to a culprit for what's happening

Madrid continues to analyze what went wrong last Sunday in the Spanish Supercopa final. The defeat against Barça clearly shows that the team is dealing with several problems. Addressing them will be crucial for the rest of the season to prevent them from recurring.

Guti  has spoken about this on El Chiringuito, where he acknowledges that there's a very specific problem. "You don't need to run more, you need to run well" the former soccer player said about the team. An indirect remark that seems to point to Ancelotti for his strategies and work.

In fact, the Italian was one of those most affected last Sunday by the defeat. Failing again in his strategy against the eternal rival is something many haven't overlooked. Additionally, when they had one more player, they were unable to create danger.

This is something that has been criticized about Ancelotti, and it seems Guti also joins in. The team can't just run for the sake of running; there needs to be prior work to ensure everyone is on the same page. Otherwise, they'll push the machinery to be unable to achieve their goals.

Guti analyzes Real Madrid and reveals another major concern for Madridismo

Guti was asked if he's gotten over the disappointment, and he assures that he has, that he no longer thinks about Sunday's events. "It's true it was a big blow," he assures, but makes it clear that "there's still La Liga and the Champions League, which in the end is the most important". However, many things need to be improved.

He recalled that "Madrid has faced good opponents and hasn't been able to beat them." Liverpool, Atlético de Madrid, Barça, or Athletic haven't been defeated by the whites. They have only celebrated victories against Villarreal, Atalanta, and Borussia as the most notable opponents.

That's why Guti assures that Sunday "was the confirmation that you're not doing things right to win titles". It's clear he looks toward Ancelotti and the work being done in Valdebebas. He believes many things need to be improved for what's ahead.
