José Félix Díaz explains it: Real Madrid has a 'Hidden gem' after the Club World Cup

The journalist claims that Real Madrid will strengthen the midfield area with a defensive pivot who will play the role of organizer

Real Madrid hasn't finished its planning. According to José Félix Díaz, there's still at least one signing left to finalize.

The journalist took part in Rubén Martín's Twitch talk show and made it clear that the club is looking for a deep-lying playmaker: "The profile they're looking for is a Zubimendi. A pure holding midfielder, someone who organizes and can distribute cleanly," he explained.

No forwards, yes to a midfielder

José Félix is certain: "They're not going to sign a forward. Mbappé will play as a '9.' People forget about Endrick, who hasn't traveled to the United States, but he'll arrive. There's total trust in Gonzalo García."

The focus is on another area of the field: "They're looking for a midfielder because Bellingham doesn't have that profile. He's not a playmaker. There are very few players of that style."

That's where the name of Rodri, from City, comes up as a reference. Or the role Toni Kroos had in his last seasons as a positional midfielder.

A signing after the Club World Cup

The key is in the schedule. After the Club World Cup, Madrid plans to make a move in the market: "I think there'll be one more signing. Just one," the journalist stated.

Names like Zubimendi (practically finalized by Arsenal), Angelo Stiller (Stuttgart), or even Nico Paz have been considered, although in his case he'd be more of an attacking player.

Zubimendi has been on the club's radar, but everything indicates he'll sign for Arsenal. That's why Madrid is considering other, quieter options. A "dark horse" could be the big surprise after the tournament.

Kroos's spot remains vacant

Kroos's retirement has left a gap that no one has filled yet. Camavinga and Tchouaméni can take on defensive duties, but they're not traditional playmakers.

Although Modric has been in the squad this season, he won't be available after the Club World Cup. Moreover, his role is more attacking without having that level of total tactical balance and being anchored at the back.

That's why the club wants to bring in a brain, a player who can take on the guiding role in the center of the field. If everything goes as planned, the new signing will arrive before the start of next season.
