Therefore, the name Virgil van Dijk has been strongly considered as a potential reinforcement for the center-back position. However, José Félix Díaz seems to have a very different perspective on this.
"There is some fear in Real Madrid regarding Van Dijk's physical condition; it's a risky signing" these are the words of the journalist. This seems to be the perspective that the management currently has regarding the Dutch player. Additionally, there is uncertainty about his performance now that he is over 30 years old.
The club's signing methodology doesn't fit with the signing of this player, at least for now. Unless there is a change of heart in the management, it seems that this operation might not be carried out after all.
A Signing That Gets Complicated
This player has established himself as one of the best center-backs over the past few years in the Premier League. Therefore, the fact that he is being considered for Real Madrid is a great advantage for the Merengues. However, already due to his age, being over 33 years old, it is quite complicated for him to join.
It is no secret to anyone that his performance on the field is very good and he could be a great reinforcement for the club initially. However, already at this age and, above all, with the most recent injuries, such a signing becomes unfeasible.
The management currently has more confidence in players like Raúl Asencio and the veterans of the institution. Taking the risk of making this addition, with everything it entails, is not a good option. Hence, the management prefers to protect the club from these kinds of situations rather than take a foolish risk.
They Will Look for Other Possibilities
If what the management wants is to look for other options for the team's center-back position, then they will have to turn to other names on their list. Names that might have a younger base and less risk.
