Josep Pedrerol announces live a signing for Real Madrid: 'It's going to happen'

The journalist and host of 'El Chiringuito de Jugones' confirmed the arrival of another footballer at the white club

The process of overcoming and moving on from the heavy defeat suffered against PSG in the Club World Cup semifinals has just begun. The coaching staff led by Xabi Alonso seem to have identified, even from the very end of that match, many areas to work on over the coming weeks.

Apart from the necessary changes in the sporting aspect, the Valdebebas offices will also make the most of the current summer transfer window to speed up the generational change in the Madrid locker room. This is especially true with the pending signings, scheduled before the participation in the tournament organized by FIFA between June and July.

The operation par excellence is, without a doubt, the signing of Álvaro Carreras. The executives led by Florentino Pérez, as well as Benfica's own "3", wanted to finally join their paths in the days leading up to the start of that competition in the United States. Benfica, a club that also took part in that tournament, didn't seem willing to allow it.

That's why they've prolonged negotiations until now, when the Portuguese squad is out of the Club World Cup. "The Eagles" were eliminated in the round of 16 against a Chelsea side that will face PSG for the world champion title. There are still doubts about this signing amid the bad feelings from the elimination.

Everything is ready for Álvaro Carreras to be signed

The information handled by Josep Pedrerol is much more optimistic. "Because Carreras is going to happen", said the host of "El Chiringuito de Jugones" live on air. Although Fran García delivered a good performance, despite the gap with the debacle against PSG, Real Madrid understand that it needs more options.

That's why "Carreras is going to sign for Madrid, he'll be the fourth signing of the season", Josep Pedrerol states. The veteran journalist has no doubt that the defender trained at La Fábrica will return to Santiago Bernabéu locker room to join a position whose future is not very clear.

This is especially true because of the debate arising between Fran García and Ferland Mendy. The Castilian-Manchegan "20" seems to have gained some ground, but many believe that the French "23" still hasn't lost his place to the young defender despite his current injury.

Xabi Alonso must make many decisions after this painful result against PSG. This includes the right-back position, even though Josep Pedrerol warns of Álvaro Carreras's arrival in the white locker room. The arrival of this footballer, long desired by the sporting management, points to his entry as a regular starter in the plans of the Tolosa coach.
