Kimmich Rushes His Options to Sign for Real Madrid, Halt to Negotiations
The German midfielder doesn't rule out ending up with Real Madrid
This upcoming summer, several players will have to make a decision about their future. Their contracts end on June 30, and they could end up joining any team for free. One of those in this situation is the German midfielder, Joshua Kimmich.
Despite Bayern Munich's attempts to renew, none have come to fruition. This makes them start to consider losing the midfielder, and Real Madrid could be a destination. It is true that we are talking about a player who is already 30 years old, and that can be decisive.

But his qualities make him one of the possible replacements for Kroos after his retirement. This is why Kimmich is still waiting for the possible call from Real Madrid to sign. This has caused all the negotiations he had pending to be currently on hold.
For now, he hasn't accepted any of those offers, although he has several on the table. The reason is that he wants to keep the door open to Real Madrid's interest. Although Liverpool, Manchester City, or Barcelona want to acquire Kimmich's services.
Real Madrid Looks to Other Market Options Before the Possible Signing of Kimmich
It is true that Real Madrid has had Kimmich's name noted in their agenda as a possible signing. They valued his ability to bring the ball out from the back and build the play. They considered him one of the best alternatives after Kroos's retirement months ago.

But at Bernabéu, they point to Zumimendi as the best alternative thinking about the future. His clause is 60 million, so it wouldn't mean an excessively high outlay. And his quality at Real Sociedad makes it clear that he is ready to take on the challenge.
Additionally, at Real Madrid, they don't rule out that Kimmich might end up renewing with Bayern Munich. The Bavarian team's sporting director, Christoph Freund, has left the door open to it. "I'm sure he will finally decide to stay with us," he said a few days ago about the possibilities they have.
