Konaté, Saliba or Guehi: 2 of the 3 will play for Real Madrid in 2026-27

Dean Huijsen has undoubtedly been one of Real Madrid's best signings last summer. However, the club remains interested in further strengthening its backline with center-backs like Konaté, Saliba, or Guéhi. According to information from José Félix Díaz, the team's plan is to sign both French players as free agents.

Ibrahima Konaté, Liverpool's center-back, was strongly linked to Real Madrid this summer. His rejection of contract renewal offers from the English club showed his desire to leave. However, as the transfer window closed, Real Madrid has shown patience, keeping an eye on his transfer for next summer when he will be a free agent.

Meanwhile, at 24 years old, William Saliba has the potential to be one of the best center-backs in the world. Under Mikel Arteta's leadership, the Frenchman has become one of Arsenal's leaders on the field. Unfortunately, the injury he has suffered raises some doubts about his level when he manages to recover and return to the field.

Marc Guéhi, from Crystal Palace, remains a very solid option for Real Madrid. At 25 years old, Guéhi was very close to signing for Liverpool last transfer window, with his move falling through at the last minute. Despite the achievements he has had with his team, the player hasn't renewed a contract that ends in the summer of 2026.
