Liverpool Chooses a Real Madrid Star Player to Replace Salah at Anfield
The English team has explored the possibility of transfering Rodrygo as a replacement for Salah: Florentino is not going to give him away
Liverpool is clear about who would be the ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian leaves Anfield. According to TEAMtalk, Rodrygo Goes, a Real Madrid player, is the main target for the "Reds".
Salah's contract with Liverpool ends on June 30th, 2025, and his renewal seems to be at a standstill. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is pushing to transfer the striker, which could lead to his departure at the end of this season.
If that happens, Liverpool would have Rodrygo in their sights as a replacement.
Rodrygo, a key piece for Florentino
The Brazilian will not be an easy sale for Real Madrid. Florentino Pérez considers Rodrygo a special player. Although he doesn't have the same media impact as Vinícius or Mbappé, he has the president's full support.
Rodrygo is under contract until June 30, 2028 and has been crucial this season, with 11 goals and 6 assists in all competitions.
Manchester City already approached the player in the past, but now it is Liverpool who seems more determined to attempt his signing.
Challenges for the "Reds"
Convincing Real Madrid will not be an easy task. Florentino Pérez has no intention of letting Rodrygo go easily, especially considering that Salah is a pillar of Liverpool.
Additionally, the Brazilian is settled at Santiago Bernabéu and is a key piece in the club's long-term plans.
Although Liverpool's interest is real, any negotiation will be conditioned by Salah's situation and Real Madrid's demands. For now, Florentino remains firm: Rodrygo is not for sale.
Salah's departure to Saudi Arabia could trigger a significant move in the market. However, everything indicates that the "reds" will have to look for alternatives if they want to find the Egyptian's successor.
Rodrygo's future seems to be in Madrid, but Liverpool's interest shows the Brazilian's weight in the European football scene.
