Lucas Vázquez Faces the Media After the 3-0 and Makes It Clear, There Will Be a Comeback: 'We're Going to...'

The Galician believes in the comeback and assures that Santiago Bernabéu will witness another magical night in Europe

After the tough 3-0 defeat against Arsenal, Lucas Vázquez was one of the few Real Madrid players who faced the media.

He did so without hiding, with self-criticism, but also with the conviction that the team can work a new European miracle at Santiago Bernabéu.

The Galician player acknowledged how poorly the team performed in London, but made it clear that they still believe in the comeback:

"If there's a team in the world that can turn this around, it's us, in our stadium and with our fans. Wednesday will be a different match, and we'll fight to come back".

Real Madrid suffered one of their darkest nights in the Champions League. Two free-kick goals by Declan Rice and a goal by Mikel Merino sealed the first leg of the quarter-finals at the Emirates.

The Galician Doesn't Hide the Reality

Lucas didn't want to sugarcoat it: "We weren't good. Arsenal played a great match. We didn't find our game. A few loose chances, but without control. We couldn't pin them in their half".

The full-back also lamented the lack of reaction after the break: "We didn't know how to take a step forward. We lacked continuity and rhythm".

Calls for Heroics

Despite the thrashing, Lucas Vázquez sent a message of optimism to Madrid fans. He believes in history. He believes in the team. He believes in the fans.

"It's difficult, yes. But if there's a team that can do it, it's this one. At home, with our people, we'll give everything to turn it around".

Real Madrid needs to win by three goals to force extra time or by more to advance directly. A challenging task, but not impossible at the white coliseum.

Lucas insists: "We don't usually lose two games in a row. We're going to work, to believe, and to pour our hearts out to achieve the comeback".

The message is clear: there's a match on Wednesday at Bernabéu. The white club doesn't give up. The faith remains intact. And when Real Madrid believes, Europe trembles.
