Álvaro Carreras's reaction, angry and he has already told Real Madrid

The Spanish footballer makes his opinion clear about what is happening regarding his sporting future

Real Madrid has followed a strict roadmap during the first weeks of the 2025 summer transfer window. The executives led by Florentino Pérez, anticipating Xabi Alonso's arrival, aimed for a complete overhaul of the defensive line that hasn't happened as planned.

The only signing that hasn't materialized out of the three additions planned before the start of the Club World Cup is Álvaro Carreras. The negotiations between the Madrid club and the Benfica player's camp progressed quickly, given the intentions of the Spanish "3" himself to play for the Merengue team.

The speed with which an agreement was reached with Álvaro Carreras completely disappeared when it came time to negotiate with Benfica. From the upper management at Estádio da Luz, they wouldn't agree to lower the price of his release clause, about €50 million (about €50 million), which for the Madrid leadership was too much.

The talks, given that significant difference between the limits of both clubs, definitively stalled. Real Madrid wanted to sign Álvaro Carreras before the start of the Club World Cup, a competition in which the Portuguese team is also participating. To make that happen, the Madrid bosses would have to pay more.

There is still no solution

Once again, the proposal from the Portuguese team was rejected. Álvaro Carreras hoped that both clubs would reach an agreement before last June 10, when the first window of the current summer transfer market officially closed. That didn't happen, and now the player has let the Madrid club know about his great dissatisfaction with the situation he is currently experiencing.

The Spanish full-back wanted to play in the Club World Cup as a Real Madrid player. Still thinking about his arrival in Santiago Bernabéu locker room, since he still believes that an agreement between the clubs is possible, Álvaro Carreras has made it clear that he won't take any risks.

That means he won't expose himself to actions that could severely affect his physical condition, which could lead to an injury... an ailment that would prevent him from passing the medical examination with Real Madrid, thus disrupting his signing for the Spanish capital club. Álvaro Carreras's "rebellion" is further proof that his wishes haven't been fulfilled.

The Spanish player's anger with Benfica, which has set higher conditions regarding the Club World Cup, is more than evident. That's why he'll wait until the end of the competition organized by FIFA to find out the outcome of the saga he is starring in, an operation that Real Madrid also wants to close as soon as possible.
