Madrid Authorizes This Star's Departure: 20 Millions to Move to the Bundesliga

They won't oppose after the offer coming from Germany

Real Madrid has been looking for a right wing with an eye on the future of the position. Lucas Vázquez might leave this summer and Carvajal's age suggests thinking about a replacement. In the offices of Bernabéu, they've had several candidates they liked a lot.

The one who seems closest to arriving is Alexander Arnold, who will arrive free if he doesn't renew his contract. Although it's not finalized yet, the Whites want to have everything signed by January. That makes them rule out other possibilities they had been following.

One of them is the young Sevilla winger, Juanlu Sánchez, who had left a very good impression. In recent seasons, they've wanted to monitor him to see what his potential was. However, the possible transfer of Arnold closes the doors of Bernabéu to him for the future.

Something Leipzig wants to take advantage of, as they seem willing to pay the 20 millions of his clause. Real Madrid doesn't seem likely to intervene to prevent the operation. Although he was on the wish list, they're not entirely interested.

Doubts at Real Madrid with Juanlu and the clear choice for right-back is Alexander Arnold

Despite his good performance, the truth is that Juanlu hasn't managed to be a starter.  Even Jesús Navas seemed an option ahead of him, although he had already announced his retirement. That makes Real Madrid have doubts  about going for his transfer.

Especially because what they wanted was a player capable of taking on the starting role when Carvajal is no longer there. Those are big shoes to fill since we're talking about the best right-back in the world. He proved it last season when he was at a spectacular level.

That's why they consider Alexander Arnold the choice to occupy that position in the long term. He has plenty of quality, as well as several years ahead to perform at the highest level. It's the clear choice they've made, and they're very close to finalizing it for him to arrive free in the summer.
