Madrid's three-way deal to sign Carreras: everyone gets a cut

One of the deals that has been rumored for a while for the Merengue side is that of Álvaro Carreras to join the White team.  Although the player is one step away from being officially signed by Real Madrid, there are still certain details in the deal that could have a domino effect. This is because Dépor could receive up to €280,000 ($280,000) from the transfer of this player, as well as Benfica.

This is a real surprise, since there is a third party involved in this deal that, of course, would benefit greatly from this transfer. Although for some this could be a question, this is due to a FIFA statute that states that this amount must go to the team that developed him.

This way, regardless of the fact that Real Madrid also had him as a youth player,  the one that has benefited is the lower division team.

Carreras and one more involved

It is quite clear that the signing of Álvaro Carreras has been one of the most complicated that Real Madrid has had, at least in this transfer window. The indecision or omission by Benfica before the Club World Cup made the situation quite complicated.

However, in the end, the transfer will be completed for €50 million ($50 million) to be paid in different installments, where Dépor will receive that amount. FIFA has a solidarity mechanism where up to 5% of the transfer can be acquired by the clubs that developed him.

This would represent a more than significant income for a team that had parted ways with the footballer some time ago. With this, FIFA complies with its regulations and also makes it clear that it is not just about having and selling him, but that there are even royalties.

Madrid has what it wants

The most important thing about all this is that Real Madrid will be able to have the footballer it has so desired and Benfica had to share part of the pie. Madridists expect that he can perform at the level that is so desired, even more so for a footballer with these characteristics.
